The PGDM course duration spans for a period of 2 years wherein you learn about developing business and communication skills to make you reach the top of the corporate ladder. We offer a wide variety of specializations such as international business, marketing management, human resource management, information technology and financial markets. The structure of the course is designed in a way that students have to study the core courses from different functional areas of management that are made compulsory. Later on, specialization are offered in functional areas where the students can opt for two specializations out of the six offered : Marketing, Finance, IT, HR, Operations and International Business and right from the beginning of the course, the focus is on providing relevant input through case discussion/ analysis, simulations games, role plays etc. keeping in mind the current business scenario.
The Teaching Pedagogy
To provide an academic environment to the students, which will inspire them to realize their full potential and contribute to the development of society. Our teaching methodology aims to equip students on the various aspects that are essential to their future role. It includes Interactive Lectures, Interdisciplinary Approaches, Investigative Case-Based Learning, Teaching with Data Simulations, Quantitative Data Analytics and Role Playing.
The Case Study Method
The case method stimulates the intellect and enhances cognitive capabilities. Case discussions are supplemented with lectures, seminars, management games, role-plays, industrial visits and group exercises. The case method is utilized to develop decision making and problem solving skills by analysing real problems.
Research-Based Learning:
Research is interwoven with teaching and learning at all levels. By incorporating research outcomes into curriculum, students gain an understanding and scientific method of thinking, thus creating a culture of research and innovation. Broad skills such as critical thinking, information retrieval and evaluation, and problem solving are stressed. Knowledge of statistical models and data analysis techniques are imparted.
Summer Internship
Summer internship is a requisite part of PGDM curriculum which helps the students to gain experience thereby enhancing their knowledge, understanding of management problem, operational issues and functioning of the corporate. After completion of two semesters in the first year, students undergo summer training of 6 to 8 weeks and submit the detailed report regarding the same. Students have to make a formal presentation to the Institute Jury on the project, which may include experts from industry/ academics.
Course Structure
The PGDM curriculum follows a well-crafted structure that is updated on a regular basis. During the first year, all the students pursue the same course of study and students build a firm, broad foundation of general management concepts and skills across all the key disciplines. In the second year, all students are offered dual specialization in any two of the offered disciplines (Marketing, Finance, International Business, Human Resource, Information Technology, Retail and Insurance & Risk Management).
